As of 2024, we will aim to put on at least 5 Training Days per year, which once the bookings go live this page will be updated and you will be able to book the sessions you want with the turners that are available, so watch this space.

The confirmed dates for 2024 are all Saturday’s – 17 Feb, 13 Apr, 15 Jun, 14 Sep and 16 Nov.  Not taking bookings yet, but if interested, please contact us to register your interest to get early access to the booking system.    

All levels covered from total beginners to advanced, subjects from safety, tool control, sharpening, bowls and hollowing etc.

The Training Days are open to anyone, whether you are already a member or new to the hobby and fancy having a go.  We would of course be delighted if you then decide to join the Club as a result.

We will endeavour to have all 4 Club lathes set up and Instructors manning each one.  Unlike the Hands on Nights there won’t be an audience watching you so you can learn at your own pace and have no other distractions.

Each 1 hour session will cost you only £10, which for one to one training is a bargain.  For beginners, we would recommend booking in for a 3hr session either in the morning or the afternoon as there is a lot to cover and hopefully you will be able to go home with whatever you end up making.

Please note whilst all our Instructors are experienced in their own right, some have certain special areas of woodturning they are particularly good at.  Depending on what you want to do, the Club may move your booking to a more suitable Instructor.
