10 Mar 20 Hands on Night Competition Table Results – Newark Show Postponed
HANDS ON NIGHT
Last nights Hands on Night has to be one of our best attended nights to date and just goes to show how popular these nights have become. We welcomed several new guests to the Club which is great to see and of course all our usual members. The shop had yet another good night and this kept John very busy. It was also good to see Martin Pidgen, our resident wood supplier back and selling his native and exotic woods. If you are after anything particular, please contact him in advance of our meetings so that he can ensure he has what you are after. His contact details can be found at the bottom of our Club Contacts Page.
Many thanks to all the instructors for their hard work during the evening and the Committee for the smooth running of the night, but a big thank you goes to all those members that helped setting up and stayed on after the meeting to help clear away, which makes the job a lot quicker and easier and as they say, many hands make light work.
Please remember if you can give a little of your time either before or after a meeting to help with the setting up and clearing away it makes the evening a great success and takes some of the pressure off the Committee members.

COMPETITION RESULTS
This month’s competition has been moved to the Hands on Night as a trial to see if we can get move entries and more people voting on the table. This gives you more time to vote and allows for discussion to be had on the pieces of work displayed and to hopefully inspire our new turners to show just what you could make. We would like to take this opportunity to thank all those members that attended last nights Hands on Night which was a great success and the competition table saw a larger number of entries in all three classes and a higher number of the members voted which is much appreciated by all those that had entered items. Sorry the photos are not very good!

NEWARK SHOW – NEW DATES
The Club has been informed this morning by the Newark Show organisers that based on the information given out by the Government and Health Authorities, it would appear that the next 2/3 weeks could be quite crucial with the spread of Coronavirus. Therefore, based on this information, plus the age range of their visitors, they have made the decision to postpone the Midland’s Woodworking Show until the 19 and 20 June. All tickets previously bought will be honoured.
If you have any questions, please contact the show organisers directly.
