29 Oct 19 – Emma ‘The Tiny Turner Demo and Competition Results
EMMA ‘THE TINY TURNER’ DEMO
This month we were pleased to welcome back Emma ‘The Tiny Turner’ to see what she would make for us this time. We were certainly not disappointed. We watched how she took a piece of timber and turned it to a spindle and then by off setting the centres by three times, formed a triangular twisted box. The diagram in the photos below show how she did it. Then on one half she carved in a texture which was then ebonised and brushed over with different gilt creams to give differing results. We then moved on to making a little snowman hat to go onto one of her glass baubles with led lights inside. To finish off the hat and the evening, she showed us how to apply metallic leaf.
