Air Ambulance Donation, Hands on Night and Christmas Function
LINCS & NOTTS AIR AMBULANCE DONATION
During the Chestnut Weekender that took place on the 3 – 4 August 19 at Springfields, Spalding, the Club was invited to have a stand. We eagerly accepted the offer from Terry at Chestnut. The Club had been donated some timber that we were able to sell at the show. We are thrilled to annouce this raised £200, which was donated to the Lincs & Notts Air Ambulance, bringing our cash total raised for them to date up to £6075! A big thank you to all those that supported the event. This is quite an achievement to be proud about. Well done.

HANDS ON NIGHT
October’s Hands on Night was extremely well supported with over 34 members attending plus a few new guests which is always great to see. Thanks to all our resident turners, John Liles, Chris Fisher and Peter Hallam who manned the lathes whilst Stuart made lots of sparks on the Pro Edge sharpening chisels that had been brought along. The sharpening facility is there to be used, by you, the members, so once shown how to use it safely, you are welcome to sharpen your own tools. All we ask is for 20p per chisel sharpened, to be paid to the Club Shop to cover the cost of the belts.
I would personally like to thank all those that stayed behind to help putting everything away and cleaning up at the end of the evening, it is very much appreciated. As you can appreciate it takes an hour to set up in time for 7pm start and then at the end, when we all want to go home, there is lots to do before we can all go. There are several heavy items and lots of other equipment to be got out at the start of an evening and everything has to be put away at the end and the hall left clean. Please remember, we are all getting older and some are not as able as they used to be, so please help out in what ever way you can, as many hands make light work. WE NEED YOU!

As usual the Hands on Night was well attended. I had one of the young members on my lathe and I was really impressed with his tool handling. All his learning has taken place at hands on nights. No need to say anymore then.
