25 Jun 19 – Margaret Garrard Demo and Competition Results

Demonstration Club Night, with Margaret Garrard this week saw a great turnout from members to see Margaret bring yet another thought provoking idea from her repertoire.  We saw leaf shaped insert viewed from both inside and outside of a six inch bowl.  See the pictures below and you’ll get the idea of the technique. Comments from the floor as to other ideas that sprung from the demo were encouraging and Margaret was very thorough in her description of how to develop your own ideas and skills.  More photos in the Gallery.

Congratulations to Rob Smyth in winning the £25 Shop Voucher after completing the Club Survey.

There were excellent pieces on the competition table and it was very difficult to choose the winners, all deserved recognition for the effort they put in, it would be good if we had a few more entries as we know how good you all are.

Next Club event – Grill night on 30 June at the Durham Ox, a disappointing take up this year, however, let’s hope all those attending enjoy the evening.

We now have a fully booked Training Day on the 13 Jul 19, so thank you to all those that are supporting this activity.  As these days seem to be popular, we are pleased to announce a new date on the 21 Sept 19, where we will have four turners available to book for one to one sessions at £5 per hour.  Head over to the Training Day page to get booked up now so you don’t missed out.

The Christmas function is now confirmed as being held on the 14 Dec 19 at the Coningsby Community Hall.  We are hopefully going to be having a Hog roast/Carvery to be confirmed.
