Hands on Night 9 Apr 19
HANDS ON NIGHT
Some may think that watching a lump of wood rotating at speed on piece of machinery as something you would rather miss, not so at our April Hands on Night. Our resident turners showed skills from sharpening, skewing, shaping and umpteen other techniques to an enthusiastic meeting of existing members and new visitors, many of them having a real “hands on” night on one of our five active lathes. Lots of chat, plus friendly banter and story sharing as usual, all in the best possible taste. Plus tea and biscuits; it is no wonder that we keep attracting visitors and new members every month. A big thank you to all those who made it a good night and look forward to seeing you all at our next demo night on 30th April to see a change to our previously advertised programme, as unfortunately Tony Wilson has been poorly so can’t make it. He has been replaced by our resident expert, John Liles, so thanks John for stepping in at the last minute.
And lastly, Training Days and Club Survey
Training Days – The booking system is now back up and working again, I don’t know what happened, so sorry for any inconvenience caused.
11 May 19 – We now have only one slot left available with Stuart at 15:10 to 16:10, so first come first served. Thank you for showing your support in this activity.
13 July 19 – John Liles is now fully booked but we still have lots of available slots with either Chris, Peter and Stuart, so get your booking in soon before they all go.
Club Survey – Want to win a £25 gift voucher to spend in our club shop for free! All you have to do is answer 21 simple questions and provide us with some feedback. Its your Club, so how about getting involved and have your say. We have only had 24 people complete it so far, which is great, so thank you for your time and feedback, but when we have nearly 70 members, its not so good. So please, take the time to complete it. You have until the end of May.
