Club Survey and Training Days, Hands on Night
CLUB SURVEY
Firstly, thank you to the 16 of you that have kindly taken the time to complete the Club Survey. If you have not done so already, please have a look and let us know what you think. It doesn’t take long to do and we value your feedback on your Club.
Why are we doing it? In an attempt to bring to our members the best Club we can, we are always looking at ways to improve. So, we need your help by completing a Club Survey which is only 22 easy questions. At the end, you don’t have to give us your name, but if you do, firstly if there is anything we would like to discuss further with you we can, but as incentive to complete it we are offering the chance to win a £25 gift voucher to spend in our club Shop. One entry per person. Please click on the following link to go straight to the Survey page. Alternatively, go to the Information Menu item and select the page from there.
The survey will remain open until the 31 May 19 and will also be open to all non internet users via paper forms within the Club. The winner will be announced shortly after the closing date. Thank you and good luck.
TRAINING DAYS
We have previously had feedback that some people don’t like to have a go on a lathe in front of others at the Hands on Nights, so hence, we have arranged the two training days. You will get the opportunity to have a one to one lesson with the turner you choose, with no audience. We will have 3 or 4 lathes set up around the hall with each session starting and finishing at the same time.
We have had several non members book slots which is not a problem, as we want to encourage new people to take up the hobby, but members, please don’t miss out on this opportunity. Please go and book your session now HERE
The online booking system is only to reserve your slot, the payment required, £5 per session, is only taken on the day when you arrive.
11 May 19 – Club Training Day – We still have seven empty slots out of the 18 available to fill for the Training Day.
13 July 19 – Club Training Day – John Liles is now fully booked, but we still have several available slots with Chris, Peter and Stuart.
HANDS ON NIGHT
Second Tuesday of the month here again, 9th April already. Hands on Night @ West Ashby Village Hall, 7pm to 10pm.
Help us to make it another good night. Where guests and members can have a go on our club lathes and learn from the more experienced members.
Beginners lathe now up and running for those new to the hobby who want to have a go at the basics.
Our regular turners will also be on hand to offer advice, tips and tutoring for the more confident of us.
Buy your woodturning supplies from our well stocked shop, pen and project kits from Barry Teague.
Unfortunately, Martin Pidgen who sells the exotic and native woods will not there, but if you need anything, you can always contact him on 07947 700814 to order it so he can bring it along next time or arrange for collection.
Come along and enjoy an evening of wood chat etc, as well as a cuppa.
Everyone welcome.
