Important – Annual General Meeting & Turning of the Year Competition

Notice is hereby given that the Annual General Meeting of the Lincolnshire Wolds Woodturning Association is to be held at:

West Ashby Village Hall

29^th January 2019 at 7:00pm

The Agenda of the Annual General Meeting shall be:

1.      Welcome meeting attendees

2.   Minutes from the previous year’s Annual General Meeting. 

3.   Business arising from the previous minutes.

 4.   Annual Report of the Club, including the Annual Financial Statements.

 5.      Announcement of election results or conduct the elections for Committee

 6.      Conduct a ballot on any motions/resolutions put on notice.

Please remember that without you supporting your Club by volunteering to take on roles on the Committee or just helping with the jobs that have to be done at the meetings which don’t get done by themselves, you won’t have a Club.  Many hands make light work!

We have been not given this as much press as it should have been. So let me remind you that at the AGM, we hold the ‘Turning of the Year Competition’, where we would love to see your work made between Jan 18 AGM and Jan 19 AGM.

Over the years, we have seen a fantastic display of the work made by you, our members, which it never ceases to amaze me what a talented bunch we have. We then give our invited judge(s) the very difficult task of choosing the winners. All our competition rules are on the Competitions page, but here are the specific rules you need to know:

• Held at the January’s AGM.
• Open to paid up members only.
• Up to three entries per person.
• One class.
• Entries must have been made in that year – i.e. made between AGMs.
• Judging by guest judge(s).
• 1st Place receives 1st Mark Barker Trophy and £30 in Club Shop Vouchers.
• 2nd Place receives £20 in Club Shop Vouchers.
• 3rd Place receives £10 in Club Shop Vouchers

You have to be in it to win it, so dust off those turnings and bring them along and good luck.
