Hands on Night 10 Oct 18 and New Gallery Goes Live
HANDS ON NIGHT
We had a great turnout last night at our monthly hands on night with several new faces eager to have a go on the lathes. We had John Liles, Chris Fisher, Stuart Lowe, Richard Holland and not forgetting Peter Hallam manning the lathes whilst Mick Close and Peter Blows were kept busy in the Club Shop.
Peter demonstrated how to recycle an old wooden bowling ball into a rather smart looking clock. We also had a miniature birdhouse, mouse and some fruit amongst other things being produced during the evening.

Segmented Turning
We also welcomed Frank Ladlow from Burgh le Marsh, a new member who is an expert in segmented turning and has invited members to contact him to find out how to make them. He would be happy for interested members to visit him at his workshop to pass on his knowledge on the subject. You can contact him on 01754 811556. Below are examples of his work that he brought to show us. Pretty impressive!

NEW GALLERY GOES LIVE
I have been working on updating our Gallery page and pleased to inform you that our new Gallery has now gone live. I will be adding more photos in due course, so keep checking back to see what else has been uploaded. You can choose categories to filter what is displayed and then simply click on a photo to open up the album to view all the pictures which have been kindly provided by Chris Fisher and Stuart Lowe. It was a really enjoyable night. Can somebody please buy me a cover for my mugs of tea, I’m fed up with woodchips floating on the top.😂😂

Another good evening. New faces wanting to have a go at turning, hope they all enjoyed it and will return.
The gallery is really good, well done Martin and son.
Hi Martin
Love the new gallery looks great and works well. Job well done.
Had a good night on Tuesday with some new faces on the lathe. One wants to come back on the next hands on to make a pen.
Thanks Stuart, maybe Barry might like to go on the other club lathe and demo pen turning?
Hi everybody a great hands on night with grateful thanks to Chris, John, Stuart, Pete and Richard for giving up your time and expertise. Nice to see new faces having a go on the lathes.
A small request please at the next hands on night would it be possible for someone to demonstrate “Tool Sharpening” using a bench grinder. Many of the beginners like myself use a bench grinder as opposed to a Robert Sorby kit. Many Thanks
If no one steps up I can do it Brian.
