Chairman’s Notes for Tuesday 31st July 2018
A warm welcome to all our members and guests.
Thanks to all the members and guests who supported our ‘Summer Grill Night’’ at the Royal Oak (The Splash) Little Cawthorpe. We look forward to seeing you at Our Christmas function on December 11th.
Thanks to Martin for his excellent report of the presentation of the replica shells to Phillip Panton at the Lincolnshire Aviation Heritage Centre. (See previous Post). Thanks again to John for his perfect reproductions. I would also like to thank Vic, Mick and Martin for the Press Release they prepared in the absence of Zak. This has had a positive result in that the article will be published in the September issue of ‘Revolutions’ (the AWGB magazine).
We still require more prizes for our Air Ambulance Raffle. If any member could approach a local business where they have a contact and persuade them to donate a prize it would be appreciated. We have flyers available from the desk with full details of the raffle that you
may use.
Thank to all who donated discarded clothing, shoes, bedding and handbags etc. the Air Ambulance team have collected a vanload from us at the last hands on night. Please continue to bring items to our collection point, as this is an excellent way to contribute to the
Air Ambulance.
Don’t forget to visit our shop as we have a full range of finishing products and many other interesting items – all at bargain prices.
We have currently 72 members, of which 70% have completed their GDPR forms and collected their name badges. You may expect Jay to chase you at this meeting unless you have complied.
Our next all day event is on Saturday 20th October when ‘Emma’ the tiny turner will be demonstrating for us. As you know Emma is an excellent demonstrator so we will have a really good day. Tickets are available from John on the desk.
Just a few more notes for your diary:
Saturday August 11th – Snainton Woodworking. Open day 10am – 3pm. Free entrance and parking.
Friday 17th August – Turners Retreat. Richard Raffan Master class.
Tuesday 21st August – Lincolnshire Association of Woodturners (Leasingham) Demonstration by Andy Coates.
