10 Jul 18 Hands on Night and Air Ambulance Jumble Collection
The Hands on Night on the 10th July 18 was a busy night for the Club. We had a good turnout of members eager to learn from our resident experts, Peter Hallam, John Liles and Mick Close. We warmly welcomed several new guests to the club which is always great to see some new faces and especially some younger turners of the future taking to the lathe for the first time.
During the evening, we were pleased to see the big pile of the clothing and jumble that had built up over the last few months, kindly donated by our members, being collected by Becky and her Son from the Lincs & Notts Air Ambulance. They were impressed with the amount of items we had collected which soon filled up their van. Becky was very grateful for this donation and said that this would then be taken away for sorting and either go for re-sale in their shops around the region or go for recycling. This first load could be worth up to £400 which will help keep the Air Ambulance flying and saving more lives around Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire. We are now able to start filling up the tonne bag again, so have a good clear out and bring it along.
