Hands on Night, Newark Show, All Day Demos and Charity Jumble

Just a quick reminder to you that we have a Hands on night this coming Tuesday 13th March at 7pm to 10pm.  The night is ideal for beginners and those wishing to have a go and learn from our experts.

We would also like to ask for any items that you are wanting to display on our Stand 84 at the Newark Show on the 23rd – 24th March to be brought along on the hands on night, clearly marked on the item with your name and suitably packed for transportation.  We had a fantastic display of your work last year, so lets try and better it this year, which when looking at the Turning of the Year entries, we have some seriously talented turners so lets show everyone what we can do.  Whilst every effort and care will be taken to look after your items, the Club will not be held responsible should there be any breakages.  We look forward to seeing you at the Show.

I can’t believe we are now in March already, so don’t forget to buy your tickets for the two forthcoming all day demos. These are ticket only events, so we know the numbers attending. Our first one is on Sat 21st April and is by the very talented Rick Dobney.  Then later in the year we have Emma Cooke ‘The Tiny Turner’ on Sat 20th October who will amaze us with her turning and carving skills.  Both events are not to be missed, so please buy your tickets now.

As recently posted we are now starting a collection point for jumble at the Club, so please bring along any donations to help support the Lincs & Notts Air Ambulance.

And lastly, here are some dates for your diary which will be posted on our Calendar to give you more details:

21st Apr 18 – Turners Retreat Spring Show with demonstrations by Richard Finlay (clashes with our event) and then they have another show on the  18 Aug 18, with demonstrations by Richard Raffan.

11 Aug 18 – Turn East 2018, held at Fakenham High School, Norfolk.
