Demo by Ian Carress and Competition Results
Our Club night on 26th Sept 17 brought a bumper crowd of members and visitors to the club, who were all made very welcome. We had an update on the container progress, which is going very well thanks to a small band of dedicated members.
Ian Carress was our turning presenter who showed off his skills as an engineer with his own design for a jig/gizmo to use with a Dremel type tool that gives the opportunity to create designs on your work.
He made an art-deco style coloured bowl and miniature apple to go it and something very different called a Quaitch, pronounced ‘quake’, which is an ancient Scottish artefact used for drinking Whiskey out of – thanks Google!
Thank you Ian for filling in at such short notice.
The Competition table was represented by the usual members with some very nice pieces, we could do with some more entries, the year will soon be over, start thinking about your Christmas turning competition turning of the year entry. Well done to all our prize winners.
