27 Jun 17 – Club Night Notices
For those not at the last Hands on Night, we have introduced a Beginners lathe for complete beginners to have a go on, starting from the basics. This will be with assistance from Mick or Stuart as available, so please use this facility.
Tonight is your last chance to get tickets for the Summer Grill Night on the 2 Jul 17 starting between 5 and-5-30pm at The Splash and costing £10. You need to let John know your menu choice, mini grill, steak, gammon, chicken or veggie option.
For your information, there is now a hard copy on the door of the constitution and other policy documents including the Health and Safety Policy, which we do need you to read and understand it, as your safety is important to us. There are also copies of all the policy documents on the website if you don’t get the chance.
Every year the Committee have long discussions on who to get and how the judging of the Turning of the Year competition should be conducted. So we are giving you the choice. Vote for either:
- An independent non Woodturner, if so any ideas?
- Woodturner(s) from another club (like last year)?
- You vote via the normal voting system?
- Any other ideas?
Whilst we are on the subject of voting, each chair has three slips on, please use all three and place your vote in the box.
As usual Martin Pidgen is here selling his exotic timbers (may be) and Barry Teague selling his pen and project kits. Also not forgetting our fantastic shop and see Jay for any DVDs.
A reminder for existing members and for all new members, refreshments are only available during half time on Club nights and that it is not self-service. Hands on nights are run differently, so you can help yourself during the evening, but please wash your own cups up.
From tonight, we will be drawing the Raffle during Tea break so keep a listen out for your numbers being called. Tea break will be from 8:15 to 8:35. (20 mins).
